I reported yesterday that the Exemption Update Law CLE Bill Neild and I will be doing next Tuesday, January 18 at 2:30 for the Monroe County Bar Association will be available nationwide via webcast. Several people have expressed interest in the webcast option, so here are some additional details:
Written materials: when you register for the web cast, you will be given a login which will give you access to the written materials for the seminar.
CLE Credit: Attorneys can receive New York State CLE credit for the webcast. You will be prompted during the webcast to provide a response to verify that you are actually watching, and not off playing golf. If more than one attorney wishes CLE credit, each will need to register separately and to watch on a separate computer.
Paralegals: If an attorney registers, and wants his or her paralegal to watch alongside, that is fine. If the paralegal is certified and needs credit, they will need to register separately.
Remember, this is the ONLY CLE scheduled in all of New York State right now concerning the newly-enacted Exemption Update Law, which goes into effect January 21. This will be a basic seminar on the changes to New York’s exemptions for judgment debtors and the structure of the federal exemptions option for bankruptcy debtors. The seminar is intended for both creditor and debtor attorneys and their paralegals.
